Hi, Folks,
Growing up as I did, almost always near salt water and sea-farers, I learned early the adage, “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight; red sky at morning, sailors take warning.” There’s actually a meteorological basis for the old saying (described at the link below*). In our photograph of the American River we have reason to expect a beautiful day following this glorious sunset.
I think we’re more than ready for a delightful red evening sky foretelling the eagerly anticipated day when the “shelter-in-place” order is lifted for us. But, metaphorically, it’s our red-skied mornings that still give us reason to be patient, lest we become patients. I’ve gotta reach down pretty deep for that kind of resolve right now, but I’m convinced it’s still well worth the effort.
Visualize the delight we can take when, once again, we can be in the presence of each other and enjoy each other’s company! It will happen; it’s worth waiting for!
Dave
