On a beautiful Saturday, January 11 morning, the new year on UUSS’s adopted mile of the American River Parkway got off to a fine start. Seventeen good-spirited volunteers showed up to clean trash from our mile. In the group today, from left in the photo below, were Tony Van Curen, Roger Olson, Lloyd Crockford, Eric Ross, John Abbott, Bobbie Keill, Deirdre Downes, Bill Hardy, Jeff Voeller, David Paul, Kathleen Johnsen, Tamara Olson, Marian Ashe, and Gary Keill. Missing from the photo were Patricia Pratt, Nancy Gilbert and David Dawson. We’re estimating, (with a second pile left farther away) that our crew collected about 800 lbs. of trash in a very productive hour of work.
Many thanks to our crew for making such a difference on the Parkway today!
