A number of you have asked for it and, in light of the 100 degrees forecast for this Saturday, June 11th, our regular monthly cleanup on the “UUSS mile” of the American River Parkway will start an hour earlier at 7:45-8am to get our hour in and beat the heat before it becomes uncomfortably hot! If you have not been out with us in a while, come out and help maintain our part of this beautiful jewel with your efforts!!!!
We meet on the second Saturday of every month in the parking lot, next to the levee, at the end of Northrop Avenue, off Howe Avenue, behind Panera. We sign in; trash bags are provided and new folks are oriented. We then spend one hour removing trash from the UU Mile. We meet back next to the levee stairway for a photograph of our crew and the results of our efforts. Afterward, many of us continue the fun at Panera with refreshments and conversation. Remember to wear good shoes, your ARPF Steward shirts if you have one, bring gloves and water to hydrate, perhaps a “grabber”, and your volunteer spirit… consider masking if you deem it appropriate… this coming Saturday morning looks to be sunny with a high later on of 100 degrees!
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Eric Ross, Mile Steward
UUSS American River Parkway Stewards

Oops I missed this message but I put in my hour and took a loan selfie. I had a feeling there was a different start time when I saw a huge heap of trash and no UUer’s. 😉
