Remember to come out this Saturday, October 8th, for our regular monthly cleanup on the “UUSS mile” of the American River Parkway to start at our new fall hour of 9am. Although the forecast is for the low 90’s later in the day, during our hour of work it will be temperate with a slight breeze. If you have not been out in a while please consider joining us. It means a lot in maintaining our beautiful jewel of a Parkway.
You know the drill…We meet on the second Saturday of every month in the parking lot, next to the levee, at the end of Northrop Avenue, off Howe Avenue, behind Panera Bread. We sign in; trash bags are provided and new folks are oriented. We then spend one hour removing trash from the UU Mile. We meet back next to the levee stairway for a photograph of our crew and the results of our efforts. Afterward, many of us continue the fun at Panera with refreshments and conversation. Remember to wear good shoes, your ARPF Steward shirts if you have one, bring gloves and water to hydrate, perhaps a “grabber”, and your volunteer spirit… consider masking if you deem it appropriate….
Note: This weekend we may be joined by some high school students and other folks. Those of you who are veteran Parkway Stewards, please consider answering any questions for them as they assist us!
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Eric Ross, Mile Steward
UUSS American River Parkway Stewards
