Greetings, Parkway Stewards and friends,
A look at the forecast for this coming Saturday (the 8th) shows a high of 87 degrees, sunny, with winds at 10-15 mph, a welcome respite from the hot 4th of July weekend. We will start our clean up at 8am to get as much done before things warm up (but please arrive if possible at 7:45 am).
We meet on the second Saturday of every month in the parking lot, next to the levee, at the end of Northrop Avenue, off Howe Avenue, behind Panera Bread. We sign in, trash bags are provided, and new folks are oriented. We then spend an hour removing trash from the UU Mile (American River Parkway Mile 6/7 North). We meet back at the levee stairway for a photograph of our crew and the result of our efforts. Afterwards, we head over to Panera Bread and relax with refreshments and conversation. Please wear good shoes, your ARPF Steward shirts if you have one, bring gloves & a grabber if possible, water for hydraton, and dress for the forecasted weather.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Eric Ross,Mile Steward UUSS
