Hello, UUSS Parkway Stewards and friends,

I think we can all agree that the temperatures we’ve been living in are not what we had
hoped for. I have become an early morning person for walks, for watering, for gardening,
for being active before I wilt outside. Also, I have had a chance lately to drive up the hill
and hike in the Sierras which has been a nice break from the heat wave. Like last month,
we will be starting early this Saturday, the 13th, arriving at 7:45 am so we all can get
started at 8 am and work for an hour.

We meet on the second Saturday every month in the parking lot over the levee at the end
of Northrop Ave., off Howe Ave., past Panera Bread. We sign in, get our trash bags, get new
folks oriented and then fan out to clean up our UU Mile. We meet back at the levee stairway
for a group photograph and a display of what we’ve picked up. We then head over to Panera
Bread and relax with refreshments and conversation. Please wear good shoes, your ARPF
Steward shirts, and bring gloves and a grabber, if possible, along with sufficient water.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO KEEPING A MILE OF THE PARKWAY CLEANER!
