Successful Clean-up on a recent “sunny” Saturday in mid-December

Hello, folks,
On Saturday, December 17th, having skipped the heavy rain a week before (the regular Second Saturday Clean-up date), eleven of us came out a week later. Many veterans showed up and, after an hour of energetic work, we had collected a sizable amount of trash, including turning a portion of the parking lot at the Northrop access from an ugly mess into a very clean area. Thanks to all of you who pitched in and made it happen.
Afterwards, a number of us walked over to Panera Bread and relaxed and chatted over coffee. Reflecting back on the challenges and the successes of our Parkway Stewards clean-ups over the past year (which included dealing with the aftermath of a 20 plus acre fire on the UU Mile), it was an appropriate time for rewarding two of our most reliable stalwarts. Lloyd and Betty Crockford.
They have shown up without fail virtually every month for a number of years. To honor their commitment and efforts, each received an ARPF mug and some well-deserved applause. Fair play to you, Crockfords, and many thanks.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, January 14, 2023, to start the New Year right back at the Northrop Access. We will continue our regular start time with a 8:45am to 9am
check-in to begin our clean-up….
Thanks,
Eric Ross
