Part of the 1/9/16 Parkway Cleanup Crew and Part of Their Bounty

On a cool, overcast Saturday, January 9 morning, thirteen willing volunteers showed up to clean a couple of hundred pounds of trash from the UU mile of the American River Parkway. Lending their time, talents and support today were John Abbott, Mark Gray, Alexandra Hanson, Patricia Johnson, Sondra Mercer, Cherie O’Boyle, Patricia Pratt, Eric Ross, Beth Sacco, Larry Shaw, Don Thornberry, Jeff Voeller and Dave Dawson. Jeff Voeller found, perhaps, the most interesting item: an open, empty safe at water’s edge. Immediate interest in recovering the safe was shown by the Park Ranger when it was reported to him. After our work, much fun conversation followed at Panera for many of the crew. Thanks for fine work, everybody! The UU Mile looks great!
