Thank you for the tremendous turnout for the October 2024 American River Cleanup

Dear UUSS Parkway Stewards and friends:
Last month, on Saturday, October 12th, on a beautiful, mild day, we had an inspiring turnout of 18 Parkway Stewards who came out and picked up trash along the American River Parkway. With such a turnout, the mood was good and we collectively were able to scour our “UU Mile”, collect a significant amount of litter, and haul out some left over debris from an abandoned camp.
Afterwards, as has been our tradition, we met along the bike trail over the levee at the Northrop Access for our post-cleanup group picture which displays much of our collective catch! Additional trash collected along the bike trail was called in for the County to pick up. After some light-hearted discussion, we spent time at Panera Bread for coffee and good conversation. It was a very good day and our large group did a great job keeping our assigned stretch of the Parkway looking better for our local residents and other visitors. We really appreciate your work and your commitment to keeping the Parkway cleaner.
Our next UUSS Parkway Stewards’ Saturday cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9th beginning at 8:45am. If you have not come out in a while or are interested in getting involved, please consider showing up for this next cleanup!
Thanks again for all you do,
Eric Ross,
Mile Steward
UUSS Parkway Stewards
