This past October 8th, we had a good turn-out of 16 folks for the usual 2nd Saturday clean up. We bagged a lot of trash, particularly from one abandoned campsite, and a number of us later chatted over coffee at Panera Bread. Again, thanks to those who come out and your continuing commitment to keep American River Parkway Mile 6/7 North clean! Earlier this week, I walked our entire UU Mile to introduce the American River Parkway Foundation’s new Volunteer Coordinator, Julia Cassill, to our clean up area. She was impressed with what we do and the issues we face. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed!
Additional kudos to those Stewards who participated in the first Soup Sunday at UUSS in two and half years on Sunday, October 2nd. Deidre Downes, David Paul, David Libby, myself, Patricia Pratt, Shirley Paulsen, Patti Nogales, Larry Shaw, and Nancy Gilbert all made soup, cookies, muffins, and bread with the help of Beth TenPas and Bobbie Keill’s and Patty Innes’ crew. We fed a lot of folks and made over $300 for the church.
Looking forward to seeing you again on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Northrop Access. We will continue our start time with a 8:45am to 9am check-in to begin our clean-up….Hope to see you out there…
