Twelve UUs Made A Difference On The Parkway Today!

A fine crew of twelve came out today to clean up the UU mile of the American River Parkway! With several of our “regulars” having other obligations, I expected a small group to gather for our monthly cleanup. Guess again, Dave! John Abbott, Lucas Cahn-Evans, Margaret Licha, Tamara and Roger Olson, and Eric Ross were experienced hands who showed up; and then Cassandra Sove, Karen Hirsch, Toby Olson, and Betty and Lloyd Crockford came out to lend a hand for the first time. This great gathering of eager litter nabbers fanned out across the UU mile and left the area free and clear of at least 200 pounds of trash.
With a group as delightful to be with as these folks, you can be assured that there was fun conversation that followed afterward at Panera.
Many recreational users of the trail were quick to say “Thank you!” to our crew members as they passed by, and I offer many more thanks to each of those who made a difference on the Parkway today!

A great way to spend the morning. Thanks for showing us the ropes, Dave! Toby and I will definitely be back.
Thank you, Karen; and to Toby, as well. It’ll be great to see you both again anytime!
Wonderful pictures! A great blend of newcomers and longtime UUSS folks. Thank you, Dave. Thank you, team!
Thanks, Roger! It was a delightful group to be with.
