Happy New Year, Good Folks!
Please consider kicking off 2016 with a(nother?) good deed by lending a hand on our cleanup of the UU Mile of the American River Parkway this next Saturday, January 9 The weather report five days out now shows the possibility of some light rain later in the day on Saturday, but we’ll go ahead with the cleanup unless it’s raining at the time we’re scheduled to start.
As always, we’ll meet between 8:45-9:00 AM in the parking lot at the west end of Northrop Avenue, next to the levee, near Panera off Howe Avenue. If this will be your first time to assist, I’ll get your contact info and brief you on our cleanup activity. We’ll clean up trash from the Parkway until 10:30 and rejoin at that time at the foot of the levee stairway for a quick photo of our crew and our bounty. Come along afterward for coffee and conversation at Panera, if you like!

Because of low water levels, I haven’t been on the river kayaking and photographing in recent weeks, but here to remind us of the beauty of what’s out there, is a Christmas Eve sunset iPhone photo taken from the bike bridge at the foot of Arden Way .
