Greetings, UUSS Parkway Stewards and Friends,

This past Saturday, January 27th, after two consecutive Saturday rainouts, eleven of us came out and collected a great amount of trash, helping to keep our UU Mile much cleaner. The weather was very pleasant and warm with sunny, blue skies. Working for an hour, we picked up trash throughout the UU Mile loop, some of which is displayed in the above picture, but many other bags were left on the sides of the bike path and called in for County removal. Jeff Voeller even located a mattress to be taken. Finally, two new Stewards came out and did a great job: Alicia Taylor and Pilar Rabago- Songroth. Thanks very much to both of you and our regulars for the work you put in!

Our next UUSS Parkway Stewards’ Saturday clean up is scheduled on February 10, 2024 with check-in at 8:45 a.m. and an hour of trash collection from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. We’ll look forward to seeing as many of you out there making our American River Parkway a cleaner and safer place to enjoy!
