Greetings, Parkway Stewards and friends, WE WILL BE HAVING A CLEAN UP THIS COMING SATURDAY, June 10TH. PLEASE NOTE, we will be starting at 8 am. A look at the forecast for this coming Saturday (the 10th) shows a high of 82 degrees, cloudy, with slight winds and maybe a stray shower. We will start our clean up at 8am (but please arrive if possible at 7:45 am). . We meet on the second Saturday of every month in the parking lot, next to the levee, at the end of Northrop Avenue, off Howe Avenue, behind Panera Bread. We sign in, trash bags are provided, and new folks are oriented. We then spend an hour removing trash from the UU Mile (American River Parkway Mile 6/7 North). We meet back at the levee stairway for a photograph of our crew and the result of our efforts. Afterwards, many of us head over to Panera Bread and relax with refreshments and conversation. Remember to wear good shoes, your ARPF Steward shirts if you have one, bring gloves and a grabber if possible, water for hydration, and dress for the forecasted weather.
I have attached above the 2023 ARPF ADULT AND YOUTH Waivers of Liability which need to be signed ONLY ONCE FOR THE WHOLE YEAR if you are to participate in the monthly clean ups. It would save time Saturday or in the future if you would DOWNLOAD, and FILL OUT, SIGN and DATE the appropriate form for yourself or for a youth you are the parent or guardian of and bring the completed and signed waiver to me when you show up. You must sign one BEFORE you actually do any clean up. I will have the same forms available at Northrop, but I would prefer you fill them out in advance from the attachment.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Eric Ross, Mile Steward
