Our annual tradition to launch a new year, this Sunday, Sept. 8–

water-ritual-hands-pouringIt’s our Ingathering Service! We invite you to attend (in person or online) as we celebrate the gift of hospitality and the blessing of belonging. This is a Circle Service for all ages.

For our special ritual, feel free to bring a small jar of water which has a special meaning for you. But we’ll have plenty of water available for you to use at church. We’ll invite all ages to participate in the gathering of the waters, and we will ask Zoom participants to type their words to be read aloud in the ritual.

The UUSS Choir will sing, we’ll all sing, and we’ll hear great instrumental music as well. By the way, choir rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm and Anthony invites you to participate.

Please plan to stay after the service this Sunday for the annual Activity Fair. Dozens of interest and activity groups and volunteer teams will be staffing tables to answer your questions about what they do (and when). You are invited to consider what might call you to involvement, whether it’s to create fun, build community, be of service, or all rolled into one! Many thanks to our Program Council for this event.

Come out to the covered patio and the area just beyond it. You’ll find the Coffee & Tea station outside on the left, near the education building. Look in that same direction for the Popcorn Machine and the Religious Education & Family Ministry station, with patio games for all ages.

The Soul Matters theme for this month is invitation. Consider yourself invited to receive, enjoy, serve, and learn from this abundant community. You are invited to play a part in helping UUSS live out our mission: We come together to deepen our lives and be a force for healing in the world!
