What Happened to Brandon Smith?
Black Lives Matter Sacramento’s Demands for Volunteers of America
& Press Conference with the Smith Family
Wednesday, July 4th from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Volunteers of America – 700 N. 5th Street
Brandon Smith died on June 6th while in police custody. (SacPD)
It was obvious from the police officer’s bodycam video that Brandon was in extreme pain and needed medical attention when SacPD came to lift him off of the ground in cuffs, and walk him to a paddy wagon.
SacPD picked him up from a detox center called Volunteers of America (VOA). When they arrived, he was clearly already injured and in a lot of pain.
His mother didn’t leave him that way when she dropped him off and even came back to bring him his cigarettes.
WHAT HAPPENED TO BRANDON IN THE CUSTODY OF VOA AND CA STATE PAROLE AGENTS?
Black Lives Matter Sacramento will be at the site of where Brandon was picked up. The site of where there is video that needs to be seen and isn’t seen yet. The site of where Brandon was dropped off in good health…and wanting some help. Instead left with lethal injuries.
