Race, Class, and Social Justice: Opportunities for Engagement, Learning, and Inspiration at our Church

We had a wonderful crowd for a wonderful workshop with Paul Kivel, an interfaith event hosted by UUSS, the UU Church of Davis, and the Sacramento Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church USA.  A freewill offering was taken to support Sacramento Black Lives Matter.  Among other materials, we provided a handout with the following information. — Rev. Friday, June 1, 6:30         Get Out! a film by Jordan Peele, nominated for Best Picture (some violence)

Discussion afterwards with analysis of one scene

Monday, July 16, 7:00     Social Class and Culture in American Religious Denominations—and in UUSS

Discussion of dissertation chapter 3 with author, Rev. Dr. Roger Jones
