A lively, generous, and mission-driven congregation, the UU Society of Sacramento seeks a reliable, creative, and organized person to serve as Religious Education Coordinator.

This half-time, year-round position includes organizing the weekly RE program, with the service of dedicated volunteers  We have two ministers, a new music director, and a growing congregation on a large campus.

Our weekly program includes a Family Welcome Table in the lobby, professional child care in the nursery, and  volunteer-led classes for spiritual exploration and community-building among elementary-age children.  We have biweekly programs for middle school and high-school youth.   On most Sundays, the Coordinator oversees the RE program.  Once per month, the Coordinator works (as available) with ministers on a multi-sensory service for all ages.

From June-August the weekly Sunday school class is less structured and is based on the talents and interests of a variety of volunteers as well as staff.  With ministerial support, the RE Coordinator oversees the recruitment, scheduling and support of teachers/volunteers for regular programs, OWL, and special events.

As enthusiastic families and other new members are joining us, the RE and Family Ministry leadership group is rebooting this year, promising new special events for intergenerational community-building. Coordinator promotes and encourages participation in upcoming events and maintains the visibility of the programs.  Also communicates with families and volunteers various church media.  Supervises our Child Care Providers and leads our volunteer substitutes. Regular meetings with supervisor and volunteer teams.

Compensation:  $19-21/hour; 15-20 hours/week; 12 months.  UUA retirement, life insurance, disability coverage and sick leave based on UUA parameters and state law.
