Thank you for your attendance at the UUSS Refugee Support Program volunteers’ event on April 22. Speakers from International Rescue Committee Sacramento and San Juan Unified School District (adult education/refugee program) were impressed by your commitment and enthusiasm. Thank you for your donation of computer system components and cash for their refurbishing. Thank you for your donation of equipment for the UUSS Mommy & Me program. (The high chair will be put to good use!) Most of all, thank you to all the new volunteers for signing up to be participants in UUSS’s remarkable program which assists and supports refugees in our community.

Can the Mommy and Me program use a stroller? If so, we have one we’d like to donate.
Yes, we do, Christine, but, since we are on hiatus till August, you could take it directly to IRC at 2020 Hurley Way before 3 pm on weekdays. Missy Orr, whom you met at our event, coordinates donations, and can give you a receipt. It should reach a new family quickly that way. Thank you for your generosity. A pregnant mom from our class is very grateful and delighted with the high chair!
The Mommy and Me program at UUSS is wonderful and may very well not have happened without the efforts of Meg Burnett. I love working with all of the volunteers as well as the staff at IRC.
Aww shucks, and you too, my friend. Sorry you missed this event honoring our volunteers.
