Humans have a deep and complicated relationship with the animals that share our planet. Animals work for us, inspire us, challenge us and nourish us both physically and emotionally. There is a movement among UUs to change our first principle from the inherent worth and dignity of every person, to every being. How would this principle play out in our lives? What are the moral challenges of respecting the worth and dignity of all animals?
