Shame“You’re dead to me!” Increasingly it seems that we would rather write people off than bring the courage to explore disagreements or or feelings of hurt.  Yet the playwright Sarah Schulman asks: “If a person cannot solve a conflict with a friend, how can they possibly contribute to larger efforts for peace?” Having anxieties about our differences is normal, but even the most conflict-averse among us (like today’s preacher) can learn the skills and find the courage to have real conversations.
