religious landscapeHinduism is arguably the world’s most ancient living religion, with roots reaching back into the prehistory of humankind. It’s an increasing segment of the American religious landscape. But Hinduism is more than a religion in the western sense. It is a comprehensive way of life, a tradition by which people can lead ethical, moral, and spiritual lives. Come investigate!
Our Speaker : A native of South India, Dr. Janamanchi is a third-generation member of the Brahmo Samaj Hindu reform movement. As a UU minister, he has served congregations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida and now, Bethesda, Maryland. He and his wife, Lalitha, have two young adult sons. In recognition of his service to the UUA and in social activism and global interfaith leadership, he recently was awarded an honorary doctorate from Meadville Lombard Theological School. (He and Rev. Roger studied UU ministry there together in the 1990s. ) Don’t miss hearing the testimony of a Hindu UU! Then stay for lunch and his forum.
