When asked about the success rate of his work with gang members in Los Angeles, Jesuit priest Gregory Boyle said “We are not called to be successful; we are called to be faithful.” What does that mean? What might “faith” and “faithfulness” mean in a UU context, and for non-theists? This service explores the meanings of “faith,” and our calling to faithfully live out our values. Allison Claire is a member of the UUSS Choir and a Spiritual Deepening Circle facilitator. She worked for many years as a public defender and now serves in the federal judiciary.
