Are there any lessons for peace in the stories of the pointless and absurd First World War? Today is Veterans’ Day and the exact 100th anniversary of the formal Armistice that ended the war. We will have special music and centennial reflections on that moment of exhaustion and hope when the fighting ceased and the Armistice began at 11 a.m., November 11, 1918. And we’ll ask for peace.
