Peace vs. Comfort: The Rough Challenge of Nonviolent Action

by Rev. Dr. Roger D. Jones

Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento

Sunday, January 13, 2019

A week in advance, we’ll provide information and guidance for ways to commemorate the federal holiday to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Also today, we’ll reflect on his legacy. Amid the current harsh challenges to achieving a just society, what sources of inspiration can keep us going? During the service, we will hear from UUSS youth who learn about and raise awareness of debt bondage, wage theft, and other forms of modern slavery. They also raise funds to end it.

The audio track starts with a reflection. The sermon begins at 4 minutes and 22 seconds into the track.
