Nadine Gordimer, the Nobel Prize winning South African novelist, wrote: “The truth isn’t always beauty, but the hunger for it is.” What do beauty and truth have to do with each other, and with how we should live in the world? How can we face ugly or painful truths, while remaining open to beauty and joy? We will explore the transformative power of truth-seeking and truth-telling for individuals and for societies.
