may storyThis past Sunday we explored the power of story to help us make sense of what has happened to us, to process and to heal.  Together we wrote and shared 6 word pandemic stories.  Here are the 75 stories posted to the chat on Sunday Morning. Thanks to all of you who contributed.  Feel free to add more stories in the comments below.

 

I finally retired, now dig dirt

So much lost, so much gained.

Business on top, pajamas on bottom

Getting to know my inner sloth.

All of us, all the time.

Terrifying uncertainty, will baking sourdough help?

I gained now, losing it now

Lonely still reaching out to others

Every sniffle feels like the end

Same old same old, mostly alone.

Had worse years, but still awful.

Love the solitude, miss some people.

Return in person, who won’t come?

Masked up, washed hands, social distanced

Marveling at science unfolding before us.

Working from home – I want more!

Grateful for Rich, missing my dad.

At home, in garden, moving on.

whole lot changed, still changing

They lost their taste. How long?

worst time ever, best time too

1-6-21 more frightening than the Coronavirus.

More reading, more cooking, more grieving.

Wanting to see family … not sure.

Fear of losing loved ones, gone

Read books, cooked at home, living.

Cooking, baking, reading.  Still alone here.

Retirement is looming.  New adventure beckons.

No more hugs, now more hugs!

Nancy, Noah, Evan: All survived COID

Opening up, feeling joy, even now

Followed the recommendations. We made it.

rescued a dog from the SPCA

loving family time more than ever.

I learned to wear BIG earrings!

walks with dogs; cooking, eating, puzzles

I returned to my mother tongue.

pent more time with wife

on walks passing new friendly folks

long eternity we stay at home.

I’m ready for Covid to disappear.

Lived to tell the tale

Worry gave way to acceptance….usually

Apart, I realized she’s my home

Emotional. Tearful. Hopeful. Life moves ahead.

Serve my friends, students, colleagues, kitties.

unexpected gift of deepening friendships shared

Thankful for life, family and friends

Unable to show our new baby

Family, one died, one was born.

Tennis playing son, got virus, recovered

Tender connections with virtual JHYG

Want to greet others with joy, not fear

Will miss those lost for always.

found a new life purpose

compassion and patience grew awakened heart

Who even knew about Zoom before?

Lost employment gained time to reimagine.

masked Sanitizer gloves socially distanced safe

Finishing up lots of unfinished hobbies

Joy, Fun, New opportunities

All those months with no dancing!

Things were normal, now they’re not.

Stayed in nature. Mama Earth Heals

We got married in the redwoods

Months of change

hope for renewed appreciation of family

Developed and deepened enduring friendships

never heard about covid vaccine quarantine

Still haven’t finished Reinhold Niebuhr book

Wages lower now than before Covid?

Zoom stinks, except when it doesn’t.

learned to be much kinder

back to “normal” with everything changed
