September theme is Invitation

Our Soul Matters small groups start next week exploring the theme of invitation.
Ninety-seven of you answered the invitation to join a group and explore ideas and build connections with others. We’re excited to launch the program for 2024-25.
Twice a month we meet to reflect on readings, activities and questions that help us go deeper. We share and practice deep listening. For this first session we will consider two questions on our theme:
- What is the most beautiful invitation you ever received?
- If you could only invite two new things into your life in the coming year, what would they be?
You can join us on this journey even if you aren’t part of a Soul Matters group. ON this page you can find a link to the monthly materials. In these materials are readings, videos, music, questions for reflection, and ideas for activities for exploring the theme. For example, one of the suggested activities for the theme of invitation is to have a conversation with some and ask them the questions above (plus others you will find in the packet). There is also a link to the packet in the weekly message.
We also preach on the Soul Matters theme: this month we have had three services on the theme of Invitation, including my upcoming 2-part series on Missionaries.
I hope is a great year with Soul Matters, whether you are in a group, on an individual journey, or enjoying the sermons and religious education on the theme. Let me know how I can support you in exploring the themes.

Being invited to join the peace Corp was a significant invite in 1968 for me.
