The Chalice Lesson

This week in Spirit Play, we continued with one of our foundation lessons. These lessons share the cornerstones of our Unitarian Universalist faith. The Flaming Chalice Lesson reinforces the promises and introduces our shared UU symbol, the chalice. The students got to hear this story told by our very own Rev. Roger. Please read through the Parent Page for this week’s story with your child to build a deeper meaning. As always, let us know if you have questions. We are always happy to help. Thank you!
One reminder, please pick the Spirit Play participants up from the courtyard side of the building. Whenever possible, we like to keep them from the traffic of the parking lot. It’s also easier to dismiss from one door.

The current Parent Page for the Spirit Play group has been posted on the Spirit Play page. Parent Pages allow Spirit Play families to revisit the story told during a Sunday morning RE class. These pages will be updated weekly so that you can make home connections, develop deeper meanings, and have a part in your child’s Spirit Play class. September 25th story: The Promises Lesson.

It was a joy to be the lead teacher Sunday in Spirit Play and have Nina as Door Keeper, along with Jasmine as her assistant. Some very engaged kids, full of wonder and responses to all questions, plus some very new and tentative kids taking it all in along with the quieter friends who brought them to church. And one little one who decided it was the day to venture out of the nursery and join others. Very fun.
