“Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter” by Julie Marie Myatt
Theater One will hold auditions for the upcoming production of the story of an African American female soldier returning from Iraq and dealing with PTSD. Jenny takes a one-way trip to a misfit desert community, called Slab City, where its kind residents gently nurture her wounded spirit. The story is about the immense power of connection, even across divides of race, beliefs, gender and life experiences.
Location: Theater One, Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento, 2425 Sierra Boulevard, Sacramento, 95825
Date: Monday, December 10, 2018 – 7 pm
Callbacks: Wednesday, December 12 – 7 pm
Characters:
Jenny Sutter – Around 30, African-American
Hugo – mid-20’s to 30’s
Lou (Louise) – 40-60 (Pre-Cast)
Cheryl – 40 – 70
Donald – 30 – 50
Buddy – 40 – 60
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Show runs for 3 weekends, beginning March 8th and closes on March 24 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sun Matinees).
