fixed bug w/ header title on mobile

fixed the title in the homepage header not displaying right and being cut off on mobile devices

- added a news feed – since a lot of members go to this page directly from a bookmark it will hopefully entice them to check out recent updates and news more
- also added a fun little photo gallery of members pictures (just to fill in the white space on the page)
